Makalu (8463 meters)

Makalu is the fifth highest mountain in the world, reaching a height of 8463 meters above sea level. This peak is also located in the Mahalangur ranges of the Himalayas, and lies in the border of Nepal and china. It is an isolated peak with the shape of a four sided pyramid. Lionel Terray and Jean Couzy in 1955 where the first people to climb this peak. It is one of the most difficult peaks to climb among the peaks towering more than 8000 meters. The Makalu Barun valley of this peak, lying in Nepal is a unique landscape that is home to some of the last pristine mountain ecosystems in the world.
