Cho Oyu (8188 meters)

Located on the Tibet-Nepal border, Cho Oyu is the sixth highest mountain peak on Earth. It rises at a height of 8188 meters above sea level. It is the westernmost major peak located in the Khumbu section of the mighty Mahalangur Himalaya. The peak is situated at a distance of 20 km from Mount Everest. The mountain was first climbed on 19 October, 1954, by an Austrian expedition comprising of Joseph Jochler, Herbert Tichy, and Sherpa Pasang Dawa Lama. Cho Oyu is well known as the easiest 8000 meter peak to climb. It is very popular among professional guided parties.
